As the sole Director of an independent Fabric Company, I am thrilled to have two new and very strong business partnerships in Verhees and BMC. During this journey, it was always incredibly important that any future partners in my business would align with my own goals of Sustainability, Innovation and Best Practice in the Textile Industry.

Verhees is an excellent partner for you for several compelling reasons. They are renowned for their commitment to quality and expertise and their long-standing reputation for producing high-quality fabrics aligns with my dedication to delivering world-class products to my customers.

Verhees brings a rich heritage and tradition to the partnership. Their experience in textile manufacturing complements my own creative journey, resulting in a harmonious fusion of tradition and innovation. Verhees' rigorous quality control processes also provide me with peace of mind that my name is aligned globally with a reputation that is second-to-none in their class.

Upon my first tour of the Verhees facility in the Netherlands, I knew I was collaborating with a sustainable manufacturer with the same vision as me for minimizing the environmental impacts of their products, and of doing business.

They also offer a diverse range of fabrics, providing customers worldwide with a broad selection to choose from, catering to a wider range of customer preferences.

Overall, Verhees' combination of quality, tradition, innovation, and potentially shared sustainability values makes them a strong partner to support my creative endeavors in the world of fabric design and wholesale. Together, we can amplify the positive impact Nerida Hansen Fabrics has  and create a powerful synergy in the textile industry.

The Fabrics:

Lenzing Ecovero is a sustainable and eco-friendly type of viscose rayon that is derived from renewable wood sources.

Lenzing Ecovero is processed using Closed-Loop Production, which means that the chemicals and solvents used are recycled and reused, reducing water consumption and minimizing the release of harmful substances to the environment.

We hope all garments sewn by our customers are never sent to landfill.  When you are finished with it, please hand it down, sell the garment, upcycle it or recycle it. As a last resort, I do prefer Lenzing fibres because they are biodegradable and can naturally decompose with a much lower rate of carbon dioxide emissions and no other toxic substance release compared to other rayons.

Ecovero is known for its softness, breathability, and comfort, making it suitable for a wide range of clothing applications, including dresses, tops, shirts, and other fashion items.

 Fine Cotton Poplin

Poplin is a plain weave fabric structured to provide lightness and durability. The Warp (lengthwise) and weft (crosswise) threads interlace alternately, with one thread going over and under creating a grid-like pattern which results in a tight and even weave. A high thread-count and very even weave means poplin typically has minimal stretch and crisp feel. Our lightweight poplin has a soft, smooth texture, making it an ideal choice for clothing items like shirts, blouses, dresses, and pyjamas.

 Rosella Stretch

Rosella Viscose Twill is made from premium viscose fibres known for their silk-like softness. It drapes beautifully and feels exceptionally comfortable against the skin, making it ideal for creating garments with a luxurious touch.

The twill weave structure of this fabric sets it apart from standard viscose. Twill is characterized by diagonal ridges or lines on the surface, creating a visually appealing texture that adds depth and sophistication to the fabric. It has a high level of breathability, making it perfect for wearing in warm weather. The drape and flow make it perfect for elegant evening gowns, office-appropriate attire, or stylish, casual outfits.

Washed Linen Viscose

Linen Viscose is a fabric blend that combines the natural, earthy texture of linen with the softness and drape of viscose (a type of rayon). Linen is derived from the flax plant, which is known for its sustainable cultivation, requiring fewer pesticides and water compared to other crops. Viscose can be made from renewable sources as well, contributing to the fabric's eco-friendly profile.

This combination of fibres results in a unique textile with drape and a textured surface and a breathable quality that makes it comfortable to wear in warm weather. Linen also has moisture-wicking properties, helping to keep you cool and dry.

While linen can be prone to wrinkling, the addition of viscose can make Linen Viscose easier to care for. Still, it may benefit from gentle ironing to maintain a polished look.

Cotton Voile

Cotton voile is a lightweight, sheer, and delicately woven fabric known for its softness and breathability. It is made from very fine, high thread count cotton fibres and is characterized by its softness and delicate appearance.

Cotton voile is inherently sheer and translucent, draping gracefully and flowing beautifully. This quality makes it an excellent choice for creating very lightweight garments and lining may be considered with some garments, especially with lighter colourways.

While cotton voile is delicate, it is relatively easy to care for. It can typically be machine washed and dried, although it may benefit from gentle handling to preserve its softness and appearance.
