Caring for your fabric:

Caring for printed cotton fabrics is essential to maintain their vibrant colors, softness, and overall quality. Be sure to read the care instructions of each fabric type as different fabric types may require different treatments. For most of our printed fabrics:

  • Shrinkage on first wash may be up to 5%. It is recommended you pre-wash fabrics prior to cutting out a sewing pattern.
  • Only wash when necessary. Soak a sponge with warm water and an environmentally friendly fabric detergent, then spot clean rather than putting a garment through the washing machine.
  • If machine washing is desired, use only a delicate cycle with cool water to prevent shrinkage and colour fading.
  • Turn garments inside out before washing to protect the printed design.
  • Use environmentally friendly, mild detergent suitable for coloured fabric.
  • Avoid overloading the washing machine to allow the fabric to agitate freely.
  • For best results, air drying is recommended to prevent shrinkage and colour fading. If you do choose to use a dryer, use a low-heat delicate setting.
  • When ironing, turn the garment inside-out and do not overheat the iron.
  • Always air-dry or store your fabrics out of direct sunlight.
  • Printed cotton, linen or cellulose fibres may be dry-cleaned.
